m-net.dstv.com/news/m-net-gets-set-for-its-first-local-bacheloretteM-Net has fantastic news for dating show fanatics and the country’s obsessed #BachelorNation. After the channel’s two massively successful seasons of The Bachelor South Africa, a leading lady will now take centre stage. The local version of the global franchise spin-off series, The Bachelorette South Africa, is already in pre-production and the identity of the country’s "rose like no other" will be revealed later this week. “Choosing our first Bachelorette was a daunting task,” says M-Net’s Head of Publicity, Lani Lombard. “Even though it’s not a hard-and-fast rule, it is customary for the spin-off programme to pick a lady from previous Bachelor seasons. “In this regard, we’re spoilt for choice. Both seasons featured many stunning ladies who could easily step into this coveted role and we know how fans fervently rooted for their favourites on social media. Behind the scenes, we were also contacted by other potential Bachelorettes with strong credentials, but who did not appear on the show,”. While South Africa is waiting for M-Net and production company Rapid Blue to reveal its first Bachelorette, single guys should get ready to put their names forward if they wish to become part of the love journey with this vivacious woman. Entries for the show will open immediately after her name is disclosed. Since 2003, when the first US season of The Bachelorette was launched, the popular gender-reversed spin-off of The Bachelor has been produced in numerous countries, including Australia, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Finland, and India. The recent first season in New Zealand also had tongues wagging. Instead of having one Bachelorette, the Kiwis picked two!

OMG this is exciting I am so looking forward to see if they choose a black bachelorette or one of Marc Buckner girls. I'm so excited too. They should pick a black ette. I would love Qiniso from last season as she's good TV, sincere and gorgeous. I also wouldn't mind Gina (season 1 F1). Lee never took it seriously and the poor girl was blindsided. The F2 ladies became fast friends like Madi/Hannah Ann and Chelsie/Abbie from Bach Au, after dealing with wishy washy bachelors.

I did not watch season on, so don't know the girls. I would watch Qiniso she is good TV. I'll watch no matter who it is. The production and dates are so much more true to life than the US version. I do think Clare's season will be interesting being all in one resort.

zubyn Very similar to Aussie seasons. The editing and conversations are also similar and there is no engagement as part of the show. I really recommend Marc's season.

She was the first to step out of the limousine, onto the red carpet, and into the mansion in The Bachelor SA season 2. She was the first to wow the #BachelorNation with her larger-than-life, what-you-see-is-what-you-get personality and big smile; and the first to kiss hunk Marc Buckner. Now she’s getting another chance to find the man of her dreams as South Africa’s very first Bachelorette!
Social media, radio stations, and prominent publications have been abuzz with speculation since M-Net announced the show on Sunday, and today the channel revealed that vivacious model, actress, and Masters student Qiniso Van Damme has been chosen as The Bachelorette South Africa. At the same time, entries opened for all the guys keen on sweeping her off her pretty high heels and winning her heart in the first local season of the hit global reality show.
“Qiniso has been a fan favourite right from the start and we know for sure that she will ignite all the passion and excitement that The Bachelorette franchise is renowned for worldwide,” says M-Net’s Head of Publicity, Lani Lombard. “Our Queen Qiniso is quirky, sassy, sexy, smart, bold, bubbly, kind, confident, dynamic, in touch with her emotions, and true to herself – the type of woman that a diverse range of successful men would find irresistible. And the timing couldn't be better. She has reached a point in her life where she is looking for someone to settle down with,”.
But, who will set Qiniso’s heart aflutter? And, what type of guy should enter?
“I’m still single, so clearly I haven’t found that guy,” M-Net’s first Bachelorette admits. “I’m really open to meeting all kinds of handsome hunks with beautiful personalities who think I might be their gal. I want someone who isn’t afraid to be themselves, is a citizen of the world, proud to be South African, and willing to grow with me. If he can make me laugh, he will definitely score some extra points. And being tall would be a bonus. But c’mon guys, surprise me. Don’t be afraid, as long as you’re caring, kind, and honest and think we’re a potential match, I want to meet you and get to know you,”.
Before she entered The Bachelor SA, Qiniso had made a name for herself as a sought-after model who has featured in several big-brand advertising campaigns. What many people don’t know about the bubbly millennial is that she is also quite the intellectual. She is currently completing her MA in Social Anthropology at the University of Cape Town. Having being born to a Belgian father and a South African mother, Qiniso is a globe-trotter who loves new adventures. Some other interesting facts about her: She was named one of Cosmopolitan magazine’s Next African Female Leaders; she is fluent in four languages – English, isiZulu, isiSwati, and IsiXhosa – has a good grasp of conversational Spanish and she is learning Afrikaans; her guilty pleasure is Cinnabon; and the most important thing in her life is her family.

They keep showing the same 4 guys that they just released early bios on, so that makes me think none of them are the F1. Although it seems the curly-haired guy gets a lot of her attention so I don't know.

Lunga thinks Aviwe and Gareth are the frontrunners. I'm so annoyed we can't watch and have tried everything to find links.
